The Young Königswinter Alumni Association was founded in Berlin on June 20th, 2009. A number of Alumni from Berlin, Hamburg and Frankfurt adopted the charter and elected the Executive Board. After more than 20 successful years as a loose connection of former participants of the Jung Königswinter Conference the Alumni saw the need for a more formalised structure after the reorganisation of the Deutsch-Britische Gesellschaft. The Königswinter Conference Report 2009 has been published. "Rebuilding the Ship in the Storm. What Assumptions Remain Valid, What Do We Need to Rethink?". These were the questions the 70 participants discussed over the two-day conference in Berlin. Thanks to their substancial contributions and lively debates it was possible to compile an interesting account of the gathering. The Gesellschaft's Founding in Postwar Germany
The Deutsch-Englische Gesellschaft (German-English Society) was founded in 1949 upon the initiative of Lilo Milchsack and six other dedicated citizens of Dusseldorf. The Gesellschaft's aim was to restore good relations with neighbouring peoples, lead Germany back into the circle of western democracies and establish respectful rapport with the former war adversary.
