Alison and Jo Rippier

Biographical Notes:

Jo Rippier
According to his parents Jo Rippier was born in Plymouth. Shortly after that his family moved to Carlisle where he remained until he effortlessly failed the 11+ exam. His father then took a job in Worcester where the headmaster of a local school was prepared to take Jo since his brother was intelligent. In spite of all these setbacks he somehow qualified for Cambridge where he read French and German before coming to Germany where he was a lecturer at the English Department of Frankfurt University for many years. He has published several volumes of poetry and short stories. He was much involved in theatre at the university, where a number of his plays have been performed.

Alison Rippier
According to her parents Alison Rippier was born in Frankfurt. She published one article in a school magazine at the age of twelve and then decided to abandon a promising journalistic career as a result. After surviving childhood and German schools went to study at Oxford, hated it and completed her degree at Frankfurt University. After which she opted for poverty and fame and became a voice artist and actress to offset some of the poverty. Over the last 20 years she has appeared in a number of successful productions as a member of the Ensemble Stalburg Theater.
