Synopsis:
In his provocative and timely talk “TrumpPutinageddon: How do we stand up to the useful idiot in the
White House and the killer in the Kremlin?”, veteran investigative journalist John Sweeney draws on
decades of frontline reporting to explore the uneasy alliance between Donald Trump and Vladimir Putin.
With his trademark wit, sharp analysis, and deep insider knowledge, Sweeney dissects how authoritarian
power, misinformation, and Western complacency have shaped a new geopolitical reality.
From the corridors of the Kremlin to the chaos of Capitol Hill, Sweeney reveals how truth and democracy
are being undermined — and what must be done to push back. With war raging in Ukraine and democratic values under pressure on both sides of the Atlantic, this talk is a call to vigilance, resistance, and international solidarity.
